Six Fibre played a key role in the delivery of a state-of-the-art full fibre network across St Helens town centre, supporting a major £2.5 million digital infrastructure investment led by St Helens Borough Council and delivered by Elevate.
This transformational project was designed to bring hyperfast, ultra-reliable connectivity to businesses across the town, enabling growth, attracting investment, and strengthening the local digital economy.
Six Fibre delivered a full end-to-end scope of works, including:
Network survey and detailed design
Intrusive surveys and route validation
Civils works (2km of track installed in line with local authority and H&S requirements)
Fibre cabling and blowing (144F and 288F)
Splicing of over 200 nodes
Testing and commissioning
All civils works were carried out in close coordination with local authorities, ensuring full compliance with health and safety standards while maintaining minimal disruption to residents and businesses.
The project was delivered three months ahead of schedule, demonstrating Six Fibre’s ability to execute at pace without compromising on quality or safety. The completed network now provides high-capacity, resilient infrastructure to support St Helens’ long-term economic growth, while also contributing to wider social value initiatives across the borough.
