Six Fibre successfully delivered a major fibre infrastructure programme across Bournemouth, completing approximately 4,000 homes passed (THP) within a three-month delivery period.
The programme involved the construction of the spine network alongside the delivery of 50 PONs branching from the spine, supporting the continued expansion of full fibre connectivity across the region.
Working across multiple operational workstreams, Six Fibre managed and delivered the project from early-stage survey and civils works to final network build, testing and commissioning.
Scope of Works
The project delivery included:
• Survey and design
• Intrusive surveys
• Civils works (Box building, Blockage clearance, Track work
• Spine works (Blowing and Ribbon splicing)
• PON Build
• Network testing and commissioning
The spine delivery element required experienced fibre engineers capable of carrying out high-quality ribbon splicing works to support efficient large-scale network deployment and maintain programme performance.
Throughout the programme, Six Fibre’s delivery managers worked closely with operational teams on the ground to coordinate activities, manage programme progression and ensure delivery remained on schedule week by week.
The project required close coordination between civils, cabling and fibre delivery teams to maintain progress across multiple work fronts while ensuring quality and compliance standards were consistently achieved.
By combining experienced operational management with scalable field delivery teams, Six Fibre successfully completed the works within programme timelines while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and network performance.
This project demonstrated Six Fibre’s capability to deliver complex FTTP infrastructure programmes across multiple disciplines, from survey and civils through to high-capacity fibre network construction and final commissioning.
